While Isadora Duncan was creating her dance theory she
was looking towards the Aegean while that Irish lady who
lived in America ,was going to and fro from east to west,
there was only a little time to end the most
magnificient period of classical ballet.
The rebellion
that she felt deep inside herself at the beginning of
the previous century, found its historical description
on the land where we live now.It was oneiric blue
journey. She pricked up her ears to Dionizos-the god of
law ,wine ,passion, freedom ,fertility – to see the
dance of the civilization in Mediterranian, while she
was saying ‘Dance is to reach Dionizos’ she was going
round the Aegean islands ,and was observing the
historical figures ,listenning the magical invitation of
the dance.She was trying to be inspired with the
remnants of ceremonies made for Dionizos. |
She had seen
that the first codes, figures and rhythms of the
physical freedom had been created in this region, and
rich geography whose essence is Anatolia. Hers was a
flow of dreams for sure, but she was on the right way.
Perhaps ,everyone after her was searching a piece of
Isadora in his own dance steps.And now like a river
flowing to its essence ,may be going through Isadora’s
footsteps with the view of the god emperor of Nemrut ,Antiakos
and the call of Mesopotamia , Anatolia and Mediterrenian
–we want to create the dance of passion ,ambition,
enthusiasm and peace- in the land where the first flame
was created ,the first wheel turned.Ours is the same
road but the this time the river is flowing to its
essence .We find the figures of satires and sirens in
rituals of Dionizos, in folk dance steps. We are trying
to see our land by feeling 3 thousand year old Eagean
dance figures’ warmth. We are after a very strong
emotion, a diffrent line. We want the dance of Turkey.
We are following the silhouette of the first dance,where
the human being first has expressed himself in every
field.
We are a sort of trailers.We have just been realizing
the way on which we have walked for thousand times.It’s
just like the earth we landed has started to talk. |

We are calling from
Aegean ,where a thousand year old olive trees have been
getting green ,to the mountain of immortality....
Our guide is Anatolia....Guides us with its notes,
rhythms and dance steps....and still lives. Becouse it
has all the figures of emotion in itself.
Dance is said to be the art of our age, may be becouse
it was the art at the archaic times either. To support
this idea, to make this sentence immortal we have come
together as a hundred beating hearts but shining a
hundred diffrent stars .
We certainly are at the beginning but we are determined.After
all just one year over a past , long 5 thousand years
can’t be worth mentioning for Anatolia.
Fortunately we
don’t need to look at the ‘Kaya Kabartmasi ve Steller’
for our phisical revolution because they are still
living in our dances. We want to embroid those holy
trust just like a jeweller would do and see them still
living after another 5000 years. We hope to create a
peaceful greeting from the native rhythms in the thunder
of ‘dozens of drums’.
Our friends are all the good and bad people.
Our land which was
used for thousands of years and was trod under the feet
of riders,is indifferent in manner like the Great
Alexander and proud like Sultan Murat ,we want to shake
hands with that manner. We want to open the lid of a new
Anatolian treasure to the new era with a Kybele like
embrace from the land where Eve had been a child, which
had been the house of Noah, and where hundreds of
Dionizos lived since the Mother God Kybele...
